The following was taped in 1996, on a cassette recorder, at 11:30 pm, in the basement of the Kripalu Center, with a sax player (Colin) whom I hadn't previously met.
The Dancer

The dancer rehearses deep into the night....dancing until it feels just right
She works and she sweats knowing it's all worthwhile....now and then a lovely smile
She does her very best, a perfect Arabesque....she spins and glides across the floor
She moves so gracefully, then gestures tenderly....she gives her all and then gives more
The lights dim down low, the show's about to start....deep anticipation fills her heart
Her moment is here the magic has arrived....soul and body come alive
Her bearing's elegant, alluring, radiant....she holds the room so naturally
She flies on silent wings, see what her angel brings....a spirit dancing to be free
